New Tyre Playground

Last year the Moana Syndicate designed a recycled tyre play area. Today it was finally opened (although not entirely finished.)

The children loved playing on it today!

Blind Food Tasting

Room12 children were blindfolded to taste an unusual food that they didn't know what it was.

Guess what? It was marmite!

Making Smores

Now I went to the flaming fire and I stayed away from the smoky black ash which was blowing away. While I was cooking it the smoke was changing directions.

We got the hot crackling black marshmallow. Then I scoffed it. In my mouth it was so boiling hot when I ate it. When I put it towards my face my eyes started to water like I was crying.

With our stick we had a wet end that you need to put the sugary marshmallow onto. I stuck it on the stick and then put it above the flaming fire and the marshmallow started to cook. Once my marshmallow exploded on the fire. I did a tiny scream!

My smore looks like it’s a little burnt. Lots of people said it is a great cooked smore. Even somebody said I should get a job on the famous cooking TV show- Masterchef. Ha, ha!

My smore was gooey. The marshmallow goo drips all over you. You get grubby all over. It smells like melted chocolate sinking into the marshmallow. When I picked it up it felt like it was going to fall out.

My marshmallow was going to fall off the stick. Mine was slimy and squishy. It smells like chocolate but it was creamy. It feels crunchy and gooey. It tastes yummy and flat.

I made my smore. I used a white marshmallow. It looked like it was sticky and we used chocolate crackers and bamboo for the sticks. It felt hard when I bit it. It was hot and nutty. Yummy.

My smores looked rather gooey and looked quite yummy. When the marshmallow came out of the fire it was burnt. It looked rather quite chewy and oily and it looked quite sweet.

My marshmallow caught fire. I had to blow it out hard. Once the marshmallows were ready we mashed the chocolate biscuit between the marshmallow and waited for the marshmallow to cool down. Then I demolished it.

The smores looked so slimy- all the marshmallow was falling down the sides!  It smells smoky and roasted to perfection. Okay it felt gooey when it squished between my hands. Oh no, it’s dripping down my T-shirt.

We put the marshmallow on the wet side. It was really sticky and we cooked it. Then we got a biscuit. It was really exciting. My marshmallow was really warm and I toasted another marshmallow which was rather burnt.

It tasted so good, I had a few. The smore looks slimy and burnt from the fire. The marshmallow is mushy and the chocolate is melting. It feels sizzling hot. I can feel the oozing marshmallow dripping on my hand – it’s light. I can feel the smoke pressing against my skin. It tastes creamy and milky and crunchy from the biscuit. It is so sweet from the chocolate.

Guess what? Our teacher and some parents made a fire on the backfield when our class was at assembly. Half of the time I was staring at the fire! I could not wait.
